South Sudan Hands Over 13 Ugandans in Land Conflict Resolution

South Sudanese authorities have handed over 13 Ugandans who were allegedly abducted in retaliation for the arrest of South Sudanese Chief Ernesto Tumia, accused of fueling land conflicts. Tumia, along with South Sudanese soldiers, had been involved in land allocation in Uganda. After his arrest by the Ugandan military, South Sudanese authorities detained the 13 Ugandans, releasing them on September 14, 2023, as part of a resolution effort.
