SFC Construction Regiment Joins Efforts to Fix Kampala Potholes

The Special Forces Command (SFC) construction regiment has initiated efforts to repair potholes in Kampala’s city roads, collaborating with the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA). Starting at Prince Charles Drive in Kololo, SFC engineers are filling potholes and will proceed to Kiyembe Lane. They aim to cover approximately 19,324 square meters of potholes and section repairs by the end of December.

UPDF Engineering Brigade set to complete the Renovations of the Mandela Stadium on Time

The Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces’ Engineering Brigade is renovating Mandela National Stadium, targeting completion by November 30, 2023. The project includes modern smart technology, international standards, and the addition of a hotel. The stadium is expected to host its first international match in March 2024 and, jointly with Kenya and Tanzania, will host the 2027 African Cup of Nations, a historic event for East Africa.

URA Optimistic About Digital Tax Stamps Boosting Domestic Revenues

The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) is enthusiastic about the use of digital tax stamps to increase domestic revenues. Despite only 13 out of the 20 products designated for digital tax stamps complying with the Local Excise Duty Act, these stamps contributed to 65% of the over UGX 1 trillion collected in the last financial year. Since 2019, the URA has incorporated this solution into its domestic revenue mobilization strategy.
