President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has officiated at the closure of
the Afro-Arab Youth Congress 2025 at Speke Resort Munyonyo,
urging young people across Africa and the Arab world to embrace
ideology, unity, and innovation as tools for peace and prosperity.
Speaking at the inaugural Uganda Development Finance Summit in Munyonyo, the President argued that while roads and social infrastructure are important, they are meaningless without productivity.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has presided over the retirement of seven senior UPDF officers at State House, Entebbe, praising their service and contributions to Uganda’s liberation and development. He urged them to use their improved retirement packages wisely, while Defence leaders commended their dedication and sacrifice throughout their military careers.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to honouring war veterans and enhancing rural security as Uganda marked the 36th Heroes Day in Lyantonde District. He directed the Ministry of Luwero Triangle to prioritise veteran support through practical housing solutions and healthcare access. Museveni also announced new measures to address rural insecurity, including 24-hour toll-free police lines at sub-county level. He condemned illegal land evictions and pledged infrastructure improvements, while calling for structured inheritance practices to protect family wealth. The event paid tribute to liberation heroes and recognised outstanding individuals for their service.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni, officially commissioned the Tooro Zonal Presidential Industrial Hub located in Kijwiga village, Katoke Sub-county, Mwenge Central, Kyenjojo District.
During their meeting on Thursday, President Museveni extended his heartfelt congratulations to Youssouf and reiterated Uganda’s unwavering support for the African Union’s mission and goals.
He addressed criticisms of government funding allocations, stressing the need for survival priorities, such as food, shelter, and defense, while pledging further investments in research and innovation.
