Uganda Cranes made history on Monday after qualifying for the CHAN quarterfinals for the first time, following a dramatic 3-3 draw with South Africa at Mandela National Stadium. From 3-1 down with seven minutes to play, the Cranes staged a remarkable comeback through Allan Okello’s penalty and Rogers Torach’s stoppage-time spot-kick, finishing top of Group C ahead of Algeria.
Despite a more balanced second half, Uganda failed to create clear chances, and late Algerian goals sealed a deserved victory. The Cranes now face mounting pressure ahead of their crucial match against Guinea on Friday.
