New Cement Factory in Moroto Aims to Boost Local Development

Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a clinker and cement production plant in Moroto District. The factory, established by West International Holding Limited, a subsidiary of China West Cement Limited, is set to save Uganda $380 million in imported clinker costs while creating jobs and tax revenue.

74 Inmates Graduate with Honors in Entrepreneurship from Luzira Prison

A total of 74 inmates at Upper Maximum Prison in Luzira, Uganda, have graduated with diplomas in entrepreneurship and small business management from Makerere University Business School (MUBS). Among the graduates, 44 achieved first-class honors, 27 received second-class upper honors, and three earned second-class lower honors. The Commissioner General of Prisons, Dr. Johnson Byabashaija, praised the inmates for their remarkable achievements and highlighted the transformative power of education within prison walls.
