FUFA Unveils Ambitious Technical Master Plan for Football Development

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) revealed its Technical Master Plan at a recent event in Kampala. The plan, approved by the FUFA Executive and presented to the FUFA Assembly, is designed to transform football in Uganda over the next seven years.

Gas Cylinder Plant Launched In Luwero

Go Cylinder Uganda Ltd. has opened an LPG gas cylinder factory in Luwero District. The government will distribute most of the cylinders for free to encourage clean energy use. The factory already employs over seventy people, with plans to double that number in the future.

Uganda Airlines Kicks Off Direct Flight to Lagos

Uganda Airlines has launched a new route to Lagos, Nigeria, connecting Uganda to Africa’s largest economy. The airline will operate direct flights three times a week using an Airbus A330-800 neo. This route aims to save time for travellers and facilitate connections to other African destinations.

President Yoweri Museveni to consult with landowners before implementing the eviction of balalo, nomadic cattle herders, in Acholi. The President extended the eviction deadline to gain more insight into the situation on the ground, as some Acholi leaders support balalo’s economic benefits, while others advocate for their removal due to issues with mistreatment and damage to local communities.

Government Of Uganda Constructs Classrooms in Terego Under DRDIP With World Bank Funding

The Ugandan government, in collaboration with the World Bank, has completed the construction of educational infrastructure in Terego district under the Development Response to Displacement Impact Project (DRDIP). State Minister Obiga Mario Kania handed over the newly constructed facilities at Ngaziku Primary School, which included a three-classroom block, an office, and the provision of furniture and stainless-steel tanks.

UPDF Pursues National Park Tourists Attackers

Uganda People’s Defence Forces are actively pursuing the perpetrators of a tragic incident at Queen Elizabeth National Park, where 3 people were killed in an attack suspected to have links with a rebel group. The UPDF vows to increase pressure on the attackers while urging vigilance from the public. Despite the tragedy, the rest of the country remains peaceful and open for tourism.

UPDF Deploys On the Uganda-Kenya Border Due To Turkana Attacks

The Ugandan army is taking action to stop Turkana warriors from infiltrating the Karamoja region due to ongoing attacks. President Museveni issued an order banning Turkana pastoralists from grazing until those responsible for the deaths of Ugandan geologists are produced.
