Uganda has undergone significant changes and achievements since H.E Kaguta Yoweri Museveni took power in 1986. Here are some of the major achievements of Uganda since 1986;

Uganda’s economy has grown consistently since 1986, with an average growth rate of over 6% in recent years. The country has diversified its economy, with a focus on sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and energy.

Uganda has made significant progress in reducing poverty, with the percentage of people living below the poverty line dropping from 21.4 in 2020 to 20.3% in 2023 according to the World Bank data base

The government of Uganda has prioritized education since 1986, with significant investments in primary and secondary education. The country has achieved near-universal primary school enrolment, and the literacy rate has increased from 43% in 1986 to over 70% today.

Uganda has made progress in improving access to healthcare, with increased investment in health facilities, equipment, and personnel. The country has reduced infant mortality according to UNICEF, the current infant mortality rate for Uganda in 2023 is 39.17% deaths per 1000 live births, a 3.43% decline from 2022
