President Yoweri Museveni can now receive “get well soon” messages from members of the public. As of Saturday, June 10, 2023, the State House Uganda gave permission to interested citizens to access the Nakasero State Lodge and leave messages in the form of printed cards, flowers, or handwritten notes at the banner “get well soon,” that has been set up just inside the residence.

One of the project’s organizers, Rubaga Division Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Anderson Burora, declared that the State House’s main entrance was now “accessible by the public to bring their quick recovery messages of whatever category for the President.”

“Individuals and groups are welcome for the same; however, there’s no congregating allowed at that point. The spirit of the initiative is to just place your message and proceed to your work or home,” Burora said.

In an interview, Burora stated that the general people will also have access to State House Entebbe this week to give their messages. This will last up until Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

This is both at the state house residences in Entebbe and Kampala. But in Entebbe, the messages will be delivered at Muzinga Park, which is close to the State House, Burora claimed.

Many Ugandans started writing and sending their get-well messages on the banner and on the media to President Yoweri Museveni, who is self-isolating after testing positive for COVID-19.

On Wednesday 7 June 2023, President Yoweri Museveni said that he had tested positive for Covid19, following his State of the Nation Address.

President Museveni via his twitter and Instagram platforms, has embarked on updating Ugandans and the Bazzukulu on his current corona status and he says the infection has been described by his medics as mild.

The President also advises all of Ugandans to get fully vaccinated against corona and the elderly to get the boosters. President Museveni continues to thank all the Ugandans for wishing him a quick recovery.
