President Museveni and German Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

On Friday, June 13, 2025, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni hosted the German Ambassador to Uganda, His Excellency Matthias Schauer, for a strategic bilateral engagement at State Lodge, Nakasero. The high-level meeting underscored the shared commitment of Uganda and Germany to deepen diplomatic and developmental cooperation across several critical sectors.

During their discussions, President Museveni and Ambassador Schauer explored various avenues to strengthen collaboration in areas including trade, investment, technology, and sports development. The talks aimed at building on the historical ties between the two nations while laying a foundation for future partnerships that promote sustainable development and mutual benefit.
President Museveni stressed the importance of forging international partnerships rooted in mutual respect, equality, and shared objectives. He reiterated Uganda’s dedication to advancing development through cooperative efforts that align with the country’s long-term goals, particularly in areas that support innovation, economic empowerment, and youth engagement.
Ambassador Schauer, in turn, expressed his appreciation to President Museveni for the warm hospitality and open exchange of ideas. He commended Uganda’s consistent efforts toward regional stability and development and voiced optimism about the continued strengthening of Uganda–Germany relations.
The meeting concluded with both parties affirming their shared vision of a robust and productive partnership that will contribute to the socio-economic transformation of Uganda while also fostering global cooperation in the spirit of diplomacy and mutual advancement.
