The Ministry of Works and Transport has announced a reduction in motorcycle driving license fees to UGX 100,000, following a directive from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. The revised fee aims to make licensing more accessible and promote road safety.
The ministry emphasized that all motorcycle riders must now undergo training at licensed driving schools before obtaining a license. This initiative seeks to ensure that every rider on Uganda’s roads is properly trained and qualified.
“This effort is intended to ensure that every person entrusted to drive or ride on the roads is properly trained and qualified,” the ministry stated.
The reduced fees are part of broader government measures to enhance road safety and regulate motorcycle operations across the country.
