UNOC Commends Oil and Gas Sector for Prioritizing Local Content and Empowering Ugandan Suppliers

The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) praised stakeholders in the oil and gas sector for supporting local content initiatives, which have benefited many Ugandans. During a National Supplier engagement organized by Threeways Shipping, Jessica Kyeyune, representing the UNOC CEO, emphasized the importance of local content in business operations and economic growth.

UBOS to Release Final 2024 National Census Results

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) will release the final results of the 2024 National Population and Housing Census on October 3, 2024. Preliminary data, released in June, revealed Uganda’s population at 45.9 million.

EACOP Progress; First Delivery of Coated Line Pipes in Uganda

The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) has achieved a key milestone with the delivery of nine trucks of coated line pipes to Kyotera District, Uganda. This pipeline, stretching 1,443 kilometers, will transport Uganda’s crude oil from the Hoima Terminal to Tanga Port in Tanzania. Currently, 800 kilometers of pipes are being coated in Tanzania.
